Trinidad

One of the obliged rituals for those who go to Trinidad is to drink a Canchanchara, cocktail that is served in a place of the same name and that is a mixture of sugar cane alcohol, lemon, honey, mineral water, and ice these two latter ingredients were added to make it a modern drink, originally conceived by the mambises in the last 19 th century and which they drank at temperature. Another walk by the Plaza Mayor surrounded by centenary buildings such as Trinitarian Architecture museum, the Romantic Museum, Guamuhayan Archaeology Museum, and the art Gallery. This Plaza, declared by UNESCO World Heritage, is the place where you discover the typical Trinitarian atmosphere and where the tower of San Francisco de Asis, visible from any place of the city, stands with the mountains of the Escambray as a background. The stone streets, the wooden gates on the big windows, the spacious houses, the horse carriages and the people themselves, friendly, and of simple manners are the most outstanding features of this ancient Cuban villa. Once in Trinidad it's advisable to a sea bath in the excellent Ancon Beach the best of all the beaches in the South Coast of Cuba. It is also advisable to hike the green places of Topes de Collantes in the heart of Escambray Sierra and also to visit the ancient city of Sancti Spiritus to admire its splendid Mayor Parish and to go on the Yayabo river, the only medieval bridge with radial stone arches that is left in the country.
