Antigua & Barbuda

Antigua’s culture is a resulting mixture out of African, American and Middle East civilizations melted together.By and large, Antigua’s people are warm, friendly and heirs of a truly Caribbean spirit. However, most of them work hard for their money and hold down more than one job. They are clever and sport a terrific sense of humor. There are different societies that foster and promote the arts, drama, music and horticulture. Track-and-field, cricket and soccer clubs can be counted in scores.Cricket is the national sport and Antigua has spawned several world-class stars like Dr. Vivian Richards, Andy Roberts, Richie Richardson and Curtly Ambrose. Sailing is another great sport in this island nation. This country boastfully has one of the world’s largest yachting centers that every year hosts the well-known Antigua Sailing Week, an international competition. Golf and tennis are both practiced to some extent, too.
