Moros y Cristianos (casserole of white rice and black beans)

We can eat black beans either just as black beans or cooked together with white rice to make up a broth called Moros y Cristianos –literally Moors and Christians. In some recipes, this dish requires small cubes of sliced ham or pork-skin cracklings.
