Havana, 1941 This actor worked some years as amateur and he later studied to be a dramatist in the National Theater of Cuba and in the former German Democratic Republic. He has a large career and his has worked in several theater plays. He has played the lead in important TV series such as La gran rebelion, En silencio ha tenido que ser and Un bolero para Eduardo. His work also includes the theater direction; he has directed more than a dozen plays, 13 of which have been written by him. He also has a wide filmography. He has published poetry, stories and articles in national and international magazines and he has teached dramatic art in several educational institutions, such as the National School of Art. He lived in Venezuela, where he acted in the soap operas Cruz de Nadie, Piel y Pedacito de Cielo produced by Marte T.V. He has been jury of the Casa de las Americas Prize and the prize given by the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba.
