ExpoCaribe shows to the world the potential of business and export of goods and services of the Cuban enterprise, mainly of the eastern region, because it promotes the economic and commercial complementation among the nations, said June Soomer, General Secretary of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS).

During a meeting with the press at that trade event, which takes place in Santiago de Cuba, Soomer added that 18 member countries of the ACS participate and exchange, in addition to trade, on transport, multidestination tourism and environmental sustainability to preserve the Caribbean Sea, aspects to be considered in order to achieve the total integration of the region.

Antonio Luis Carricarte, first Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment in Cuba, stressed the importance of appealing to integration to challenge the challenges of international trade.

He announced that economic investment projects are being discussed with Trinidad and Tobago at Mariel Special Zone in order to replace imports and manage productive chains.

He noted that the unity of the Caribbean and its natural environment is a challenge to face the hegemonic level of the developed powerhouses, and he referred to the multidestination and the need to resolve limitations for such integration reflected in access to visas and maritime and air travel.
