Havana Will Expand Accommodation Capacity

Havana, city that is celebrating its 500th Anniversary, will expand its accommodation capacity with 13 new facilities, announced Xonia Beltran, representative of the Ministry of Tourism in the capital, during this Wednesday’s International Tourism Fair FITCuba 2019.

These facilities include a hotel with a very high standard wood typology on the Capdevila Golf Fiel in the coming winter, and the upcoming launch of the Portales de Paseo Hotel, characterized by its hereditary and architectural value that will work under the trademark Encanto.

This Wednesday, as part of the activities of FITCuba 2019, it was officially inaugurated the Palacio Cueto Hotel and it is also planned the opening of the Vedado Azul, while Vedado 500 and Paseo del Prado will be open in the coming months.

The maritime modality will be favored by a plan that includes the restoration of the International Hemingway Navy, which entails the increase of its docks and the revival of the services.

The tourism delegate announced that it is planned to renovate the Restaurant La Torre, remodel La Ferminia and strengthen with improvements La Cecilia, El Floridita and La Bodeguita del Medio, it will be renewed the tourist complex La Giraldilla and the Club 500 will open its doors.

Gaviota Tourism Group Bets on MICE Tourism

Frank País Oltuski, Vice President of Marketing at the Gaviota Tourism Group, said in FITCuba 2019 that they are committed to the promising future that Havana can have events, congresses and incentives tourism. He expressed the security of having the conditions to make a jump in the above-mentioned modality, in which they have the guaranteed support of the Agency Gaviota Tours, together with Transgaviota.

He mentioned two events of the Group, IMASUB and Digital Nature, which will take place at the María La Gorda International Diving Center in Pinar del Río, and Topes de Collantes’ protected natural landscapes in Sancti Spíritus, respectively.

The Vice-President of Marketing of Gaviota Group of Tourism emphasized that in the last 12 months the hotel openings have taken place in the Capital, Villa Clara Keys, Jardines del Rey and Holguín, that in their totality represent the sum of two thousand 500 new rooms, for a total of 33020, in 95 accommodations.
