XIII Havana Biennial 2019 began, attractive proposal of visual arts

This 2019 Caribbean hosts numerous festivals and cultural proposals, among which are the XIII Havana Biennial 2019, the most recognized visual arts event on the island and one of the most prominent in the region, inaugurated today at the Center for Contemporary Art Wifredo Lam, organizer of this event, to be held until May 12.

The opening was attended by critics, artists, curators, journalists and the general public, including creators from Chile, Peru, Haiti, El Salvador, Mali, Mexico, Germany, Uruguay and Egypt, who exhibit their art through the most diverse formats.

The interactive facilities Blanco, by Cuban Tamara Campo and Tejido Colectivo, Donde Hubo Fuego, by Salvadoran Alexia Miranda, along with video art by Maya Watanabe (Peru) and microscopic photography by David Beltran (Cuba), are some of the attractions that the viewer will find at the Wifredo Lam Contemporary Art Center.

The XIII Havana Biennial 2019 will have on its official list more than 300 artists from all continents, along with more than 800 Cuban creators who will participate in the collateral samples of the event, this time also in the provinces of Matanzas, Pinar del Rio, Cienfuegos and Camagüey.

The Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) declared 2019 the Year of Caribbean Festivals and each destination organizes the festivities with a unique and attractive seal in its own right.
