Mexico's Viva Aerobus Airlines to Increase Links with Cuba

The airline Viva Aerobus will increase its links with Cuba from April, which will benefit tourism, with flights between Mexican cities and Cuban tourist destinations.

In January, the company began trips on the Cancun-Camagüey route, and from April 13, will add the Mexico-Varadero route with a weekly frequency on Saturdays.

Starting April 17, flights from Mexico City to Havana will begin every Wednesday.

For the summer season, Viva Aerobus has scheduled 200 flights from Mexico City to Havana, Mexico City to Varadero, as well as from Monterrey to Havana and Guadalajara to Havana, when there will be a high demand from vacationers.

Meanwhile, flights from the state capitals of Jalisco and Nuevo Leon will begin on June 1, with one frequency each Saturday.

Xiomara Martinez, tourism advisor at the Cuban embassy in Mexico, expressed her pleasure during the presentation of the route and acknowledged that they will boost tourism on the island, since Havana and Varadero are emblematic destinations.

Juan Carlos Zuazua on behalf of the airline said these flights mark a new stage of two-way connectivity for both nations, as with Viva Aerobus, Mexico and Cuba will be closer than ever.
