Grenada registered growth in tourist arrivals

Grenada recorded an increase in visitor arrivals in 2018, when 528,077 tourists traveled to the Caribbean island, representing a growth of 12.9% compared to 2017.

In order to meet the growing demand for this tourist destination, the smoke-free industry reorganizes excursions and visits to less explored places, while offering greater connectivity and new developments.

It also adds new attractions to its gastronomy in restaurants throughout the island, where they use local ingredients.

During 2018, arrivals while staying (160,970) grew 9.97 percent, with the highest year-on-year growth from Canada (17,364) at 19 percent.

The United States (75,577) experienced 12 percent growth and the Caribbean (28,990) a 7 percent increase.

Meanwhile, cruise ships (342,826) recorded a 14.49 percent growth in arrivals and the navigation sector (24,281) grew by 10.82 percent
