New airline Promotes a more United Caribbean

Sunrise Airways inaugurated a new airline between Santo Domingo and Havana that promotes a more united Caribbean.

Philippe Bayard, president of Sunrise Airways, stressed in the Cuban capital that the intention is to promote and encourage open skies for the Caribbean.

During a meeting with tour operators and authorities of the Cuban civil aeronautics, Bayard showed his satisfaction for the participation of the airline in the improvement of the connection between the Dominican Republic, Haiti and Cuba.

The executive recognized that tourism and air transport are fundamental to promote cultural and commercial relations in the Caribbean, which could mean a lot for the future of the nations of the region.

He expressed that the essential objective is expressed in the One Caribbean concept, united from diversity.

During 2019, Sunrise Airways planes will carry the logo that identifies Havana's 500th anniversary celebrations, according to Bayard's proposal.

He stressed that so far this year, his company transported more than 225,000 passengers, and aims to exceed the 300,000 for the coming year.

Sunrise Airways emerged in 2010, covers about twenty destinations and is currently one of the fastest growing in the region.
