Just a few miles away from Tela, travelers will find the Lancetilla Botanical Garden, founded in 1926 as an experimental garden by the Tela Railroad Co. Today, Lancetilla ranks as the world’s second-largest garden of its kind, where Honduran and Central American plant species are sheltered. Flocks of bird make this park their home due to the incredible amount of fruit trees in the area. There’s a well-beaten track that would take you on a grand tour around the park.
