Alertan ante posible erupción del volcán de Fuego en Guatemala
Explosiones reiteradas y columnas de ceniza a cuatro mil 800 metros sobre el nivel del mar, mantienen hoy en Guatemala al volcán de Fuego bajo monitoreo especial.
Expertos del Instituto de Sismología, Vulcanología, Meteorología e Hidrología (Insivumeh) no descartan que el incremento de la actividad pueda ser el inicio de otra erupción en las próximas horas o días, de ahí los llamados de alerta a las poblaciones vecinas.
El cono mantiene desde horas muy tempranas un promedio de 14 explosiones por hora y una pluma de ceniza a cuatro mil 800 metros sobre el nivel del mar que se dispersa hacia el oeste y suroeste, según la fuente.
También genera retumbos moderados y fuertes, y ondas de choque que hacen vibrar techos y ventanas de casas a 10 kilómetros de distancia.
Otro comportamiento fuera de lo habitual es un flujo de lava de 400 metros en las barrancas Ceniza, Taniluya y Santa Teresa, así como caída de ceniza sobre las aldeas Sangre de Cristo, Morelia, Santa Sofía y San Pedro Yepocapa.
El Insivumeh pidió a la Coordinadora Nacional para la Reducción de Desastres (Conred), implementar el estado de alerta que considere necesario y estar pendiente del desarrollo de la actividad volcánica.

También desde el mencionado aeropuerto fue inaugurada una línea para unir a la capital dominicana con Moscú, Rusia, y a partir de diciembre Blue Panorama tendrá un vuelo semanal a Milán, Italia.
Por su parte, el Aeropuerto Internacional Gregorio Luperón de la provincia de Puerto Plata no se quedó atrás e incorporó un vuelo directo a Pittsburgh, dos semanales a Bruselas, Bélgica, y próximamente tendrá una conexión con Varsovia, Polonia, para traer nuevos turistas europeos a este polo turístico en crecimiento.
Finalmente la directora de Aerodom destacó que desde el Aeropuerto Internacional Joaquín Balaguer, ubicado en La Isabela, provincia Santo Domingo, fueron abiertos vuelos a San Martín, Curazao, Aruba y próximamente a La Habana, Cuba. Y el aeropuerto de Samaná, estrenó vuelos a España y también a Rusia.
