Since the early 1900s, Atocha was Ponce’s main street. Despite a number of changes in many of its structures through the years, the walkway still preserves some of the nation’s most traditional architectural values. The street was shut down to vehicle traffic and eventually panned out to be an attractive and pleasant walkway.
