Eusebio Leal, the mark that will never be erased

Almost 30 years ago I met Eusebio Leal, there, in his old Havana, in the Palace of the Captains General. I was accompanied by 40 Spanish advertisers who came to know Cuba: his speech, his projects and his dazzling illusion, impressed us all. From that day when Eusebio planted the seed of love for Cuba in my heart, I couldn't stop thinking about him and his work that will endure in time.

Our Excelencias magazines have been faithful followers of his work and his advice. He was our guide, permanent counsel and direction for the news that, for three years, we published daily on The Havana counting down to its Fifth Centennial.

The world has lost a great man, irreplaceable for Cuba and who will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew him. Listening to him speaking was learning, enjoying and being able to live facts and similarities so technical as well as anecdotal, that time did not pass when you were in front of him.

Sadness invades us and we only hope that his work will be perpetuated with the follow up of his successors, who he set such a high standard, that only the selfless love for this city and this country can be their guide. His consistency and level of demand are an example to follow. It's not goodbye, but good riddance, PROFESSOR.
