Holguín, 744 km east from Havana, has cultural traditions that make her a distinguished and aristocratic lady, given her Hispanic roots. She was born as a herd in 1545 and it owes its name to its founder, the Hispanic captain Francisco García Holguín.A wide range of offers of sun and beach, nature, adventure, history and culture are combined to offer the visitor a pleasant stay both for its landscapes and its hotel capabilities and infrastructure for recreation.

The city is among the most conserved in terms of public decoration and cleanliness of its streets, some wide others narrower, especially in the part of the historic center, where is the Plaza de la Marqueta. Looking at the city of Holguín is an adventure for those who approach the eastern city, which possesses ancestral architectural traditions mixed with modern culture and natural wealth. It is not enough to walk the main arteries of the former town of San Isidoro or rest in any of the more than 100 city parks that make up its system of squares, it is necessary to climb to the top to enjoy the geography of the populous settlement.

The Loma de la Cruz, a cultural symbol of the city, becomes a must for those who want to unveil the mysteries of the unique valley, discovered 469 years ago between the rivers Jigüe and Marañón.

After the stimulating test of the ascent through a staircase of more than 450 steps, travelers find a spectacular view of the most transcendental sites for local history and culture. At the other end of the city, there is another viewpoint, the Mayabe, located on the outskirts of the city and offering a different view. Located on top of a hill, this natural balcony breathes the fresh air of Cuban fields and the trill and color of birds, reveals the permanence of native fauna genres in the area.

On the north coast of Holguín there are beaches of growing fame, for its solid hotel infrastructure, with very attractive places such as Playa Guardalavaca and Playa Pesquero.
