Located in the Canarreos Archipelago, in the heart of the Gulf of Batabanó, this is the largest of all islets and isles surrounding the island of Cuba. Its surface reaches 1,200 square kilometers. The Isle of Youth’s two major cities are Gerona and La Fe, yet some other towns can also be put on the map. The Isle can be reached either by plane from Havana, or by boat from the Surgidero de Batabanó, to the south of the Havana province. Nueva Gerona is the Isle’s capital.
