With a population of around 1,630,553 inhabitants, Houston is in southeastern Texas. The capital of the Harris County, hinterland port and major city for Houston’s 92-mile-long navigating canal down to the mouth of the Galveston Bay in the Gulf of Mexico. Houston underwent a quick-paced development all through the 20th Century and soon became the fourth biggest burg in the U.S. and the largest of all in the south.
