Maracaibo

This is the country's second largest city and the national trade, cultural and administrative hub, contrasted with most of the plains and hills rimming the Maracaibo Lake. The city develops commercial and business activities based on oil industry and agriculture and counts on two industrial parks -Los Haticos and San Francisco- that supply both local and overseas markets. The financial center of western Venezuela, the burg was founded by the nation's first-ever private banks. The outskirts of the city are hemmed in by residential areas. Maracaibo sports a very generous and hospitable population that will doubtlessly make you live unforgettable moments in the luxurious tourist resort at Mar Beach Lake. Sabta Rosa de las Aguas, a picture-perfect location by the Maracaibo Lake, counts on water canals hedged with exuberant vegetation. Enjoy some majestic vacations watching such places as The Basilica of Chinquinquira, a church devoted to the Virgin of Santa Rosa. La Casa de Morales (The Morales House) is one colonial residence regarded for its high historical value. Maracaibo and its beaches hit it off in a unique way. Beyond all imagination, its hotels, restaurants and shopping malls are open to welcome you.
